“Affordable Care Act Today” Health Fair for the Latino Community

Posted on

On March 8th-9th, JUNTOS and other organizations got together for the “Affordable Care Act Today” Health Fair for the Latino Community at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, where many services and fun activities were available for families. Services besides help in enrollment into the ACA that were offered include health screenings, breast cancer information, and much more health informational services. Balloon animals and treats were handed out to children to enjoy while adults walked through the informational booths.

Organizations involved in the fair include:

JUNTOS Center for Advancing Latino Health, Ventanilla de Salud, ENROLL Wyandotte!, the Mexican Consulate of Kansas City, UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, Advanced: Patient Advocacy, Truman Medical Centers, Amerigroup, Viva Saludable, and El Centro.

The fair was a big success and many people were able to get enrolled into the ACA. We’d like to thank all the organizations and volunteers that came to be a part of this great fair!
