On September 18th-19th, the Juntos team was represented by Johana Bravo, Abril Negrete, Mariana Ramirez and Diosselyn Tot at the 70th Annual Kansas Public Health Association Conference. The conference was held at the Hyatt Regency Convention Center in Wichita Kansas. They were able to attend a variety of different lectures regarding recent and ongoing health programs in the state of Kansas.
Diosselyn Tot: This winter break of 2012, I was able to help out with a research paper focusing on Latinidad and the meaning of being Latino from the point of view of immigrants. Ruth Pedraza is currently a post-Baccalaureate student at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and an intern at Juntos Center for Advancing Latino Health. Ms. Pedraza has a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Biology and a Bachelors of Arts in Chicano Studies from the University of California Davis.
