WICHITA, Kan.—Free screenings for HIV will be available in southwest Kansas from October 8-11. The screenings will be provided by staff from the University of Kansas School of Medicine–Wichita at four area United Methodist Mexican-American Ministries (UMMAM) clinics.

Promotores de Salud of Southwest Kansas took part in training sessions entitled Participating in Cancer Research Studies that were conducted in Spanish on Monday, June 4 and Friday, June 22, 2012 at UMMAM Care Center in Liberal, Kansas. Training facilitators were Dr. Paula Cupertino, Juntos Director, and Mercedes Saint-Elin.
