Community Ambassadors to Cancer Research
Principal Investigator: Christine Daley, PhD, MA, SM
This training grant brings Latino and American Indian community members and researchers together to create a transferable model of CBPR. This project involves developing a new curriculum to train community members to become Community Ambassadors to Cancer Research.
KUMC researchers with a variety of cancer research interests are educating the community on the steps involved in research: community leaders are describing their activities to address cancer-related disparities. We are monitoring pre- and post-knowledge at monthly training sessions. Dr. Cupertino’s experience in developing, implementing and evaluating a new curriculum to increase community knowledge about cancer disparities will inform all stages involved in this current project.
